Caymus Vineyards 'Bonanza' Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus is one of the most recognized names in the wine world, serving as one of the standards for Napa and California winemaking. Unfortunately, their plush, decadent bottles are hardly affordable for everyday drinking at bottle prices of $80-200, but thankfully owner Chuck Wagner created Bonanza to rectify that and bring good wine back to the family dinner table! For a non-vintage, "entry-level" Cabernet in the $20 range, Bonanza is a dense and hedonistic masterpiece sourced from the some of the best vineyard sites in all of California. This full-bodied wine offers rich aromas of blackberry and black currant that lead into supple toasted oak and flavors of blueberry, milk chocolate, and vanilla on the palate, leading into a smooth, medium finish. It’s Caymus decadence at a Tuesday night price.
