Antech Brut Tradition Blanquette de Limoux
Wine Club Selection - December 2021
Antech specializes in sparkling wines in the heart of Limoux, an ancient southern French wine region thought to have invented sparkling wine long before Champagne ever existed. Their Cuvee Tradition Blanquette de Limoux is made from 90% Mauzac (a rare local grape), 5% Chenin Blanc, and 5% Chardonnay. Aromas of peach, pear, and honeysuckle lead into classic Mauzac flavors of apple, honey, and grass. Mauzac is also known for contributing high acidity, which lifts this wine and makes it feel very fresh. Produced in the traditional method, it drinks a lot like Champagne with a steady balance of fruitiness and toastiness. Yeast and citrus lead into a long finish.
