Weinreider Gruner Veltliner Klassik
“Fritz and his son Lukas Rieder have bottled a fascinating series … The wines have always been excellent, but now they are great and among the finest produced today in this region.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Weinrieder is a highly acclaimed producer in Austria’s Weinviertel region. This father and son duo has honed their craft at some of the best names in Germany and Austria. The family’s dedication to terroir and traditional techniques, along with a preference for extended lees aging, has earned them countless awards and acclaim. Not only has Robert Parker raved about them, but Weinrieder has won “Wine of the Year” and “Winery of the Year” from respected industry organizations like Falstaff and Gault Millau.
The 2020 vintage of Weinrieder Klassik Gruner Veltliner is simultaneously fresh and complex, with rounding hints of yeast framing a zesty body. Enticing aromas of tree fruit and spices lead into mouthwatering flavors of green apple, pear, peaches, quince, and white pepper. It boasts minerally slate and sea salt tones to complement the pepper. Bright and citrusy, it makes the mouth tingle with hints of lemon, lime, and grapefruit. It is dry and Juicy yet refined, with a long, stony finish.
