Bodega Casa Primicia is the oldest winery in Spain, having been producing wine since the 15th century. In 1973, the Madrid family took ownership of the bodega. They restored the old cellars and began creating wines from the indigenous grape varieties.
All of Primicia’s estates lay in a uniquely gentle microclimate. Resting between the Cantabria Mountains and the River Ebro, the region’s Atlantic influences and moderate rainfall result in very high-quality wine. This combined with the calcareous soils create balanced flavor and acidity. The Vina Diezmo wines are single-vineyard wines and unite the history and traditions of the Bodega. An homage to the history of wine, these selections are reinvented classics, meant to showcase their best grapes.
Their wines and vineyards have earned numerous Spanish and international accolades. The Bodega has also been awarded the “Best of Wine Tourism” award for their efforts to promote both oenotourism and biodiverse growing practices.
