Venturini Baldini Lambrusco Rose

Lambrusco is typically a red wine, and those that are available in America are often sweet, so we were delighted to discover a rare, dry Lambrusco rose! Venturini Baldini, one of the first certified organic wineries in Emilia-Romagna, produces this unusual bubbly from Lambrusco di Sorbara and Lambrusco Grasparossa grapes. The former contributes delicate aspects and the latter contributes bolder notes. Aromas of flowers, citrus, and red berries lead into enticing flavors of cherry, plums, roses, and lemons on the palate. It is light and dry, and yet its flavors are so rich it almost tastes like a light red. A fine mousse leads into a long, refreshing finish. 90 Points, James Suckling.
