Remhoogte Reserve Syrah

Tasting Notes: Produced from a north facing vineyards high on the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain. Whole bunches are fermented by natural yeasts before maturation for 24 months in French oak barriques. Aromas of sweet fruit open into rich flavors of blackberry, plum, and white pepper. Broad plush tannins reveal hints of licorice spice and a savory note. The fresh acidity leads into a delicious, lingering finish.

 Since 1994, Remhoogte has been crafting premium wines in the esteemed Stellenbosch region of South Africa. With a similar climate and soil to Bordeaux, the region produces exceptionally complex wines. Remhoogte Wine Estate produces amazing small-batch values from some of South Africa’s best grapes. The estate focuses on minimal intervention, allowing the terroir and the grapes to tell their own story. All of Remhoogte’s wines are made using sustainable practices and are unfined and unfiltered (i.e., vegan!).
