Pollak Vineyards Cabernet Franc
Pollak Vineyards is one of Virginia's best wineries, having landed two out of twelve highly coveted spots in the 2020 Governor's Case and another Gold Medal for their wines. David Pollak got his start as a winemaker in California's Russian River Valley in the 1970s and then founded one of the first wineries in Napa Valley's Carneros zone. He has gone from growing Burgundian varieties there to southern French grapes like Cabernet Franc and Viognier here in Virginia, recognizing that those varieties thrive on his land and in the state's climate. His varietal Cab Franc offers richly concentrated flavors of cherry, pomegranate, black pepper, and tobacco with a long, vanilla-laced finish. This vintage received a highly-coveted Gold Medal in the Virginia Governor's Cup.
