Natte Valleij NAT Pinotage

Tasting Notes: This is a lighter and fresher style of Pinotage that has been naturally fermented. Fresh berry aromas are accompanied on the palate by flavors of macerated plums and subtle charcuterie. The wine has bright freshness with balanced acidity and an elegant tannic pull.

Natte Valleij is a historical cellar at the foot of the Simonsberg mountain. Famed for its brandy in the past, it was one of the largest cellars in the area. Unfortunately, winemaking ceased in the 1950s. The land was purchased by the Milner family in 1969, and for 27 years, it bred some of South Africa's finest racehorses. In 2005, winemaking returned to the farm. Winemaker Alexander Milner strives to make wine with minimal interference, letting the grapes lend their full character to the wines. They pride themselves in keeping things traditional - grapes are picked by hand, bottled by hand, corked by hand, and labeled by hand.
