Moulin de Gassac 'Guilhem' Rose

The Guibert family that produces Moulin de Gassac made the controversial decision to not only pull out their indigenous vines during a 90s government vine pulling scheme, but also to encourage their neighbors to keep their native vines. Years later, that decision has paid off, and they continue to produce concentrated wines from local grape varieties that do best with yield-reducing age. Their 'Guilhem' is a delightful, zippy rose of Carignan and Syrah with bright red fruit and floral aromas and juicy flavors of strawberry, red currant, grapefruit, and lemon. It is medium-bodied with stony minerality leading into a long, tingly finish.
