Mario Alberto Kempes 'El Matador' Red Blend
Mario Alberto Kempes earned Argentina a World Cup win in 1978, firmly placing him within the rankings of the planet's best soccer player. Wine has always been a big part of his life, so Andes Growers and winemaker Jose di Marco made a signature wine to represent him. 'El Matador,' as both he and the wine are known, is a blend of 65% Malbec and 35% Petit Verdot from Mendoza, Argentina. Scents of purple and blue fruits, violets, and lilacs lead into concentrated flavors of plum, blueberry, cassis, and minty herbs on the palate, which is full-bodied with a long finish and structured tannins. It was aged in 70% French oak and 30% American for one year.
