Maison Roche de Bellene Cuvee Reserve Bourgogne Pinot Noir

Nicolas Potel named his newest negociant company after the medieval name for Beaune, Bellene. Though situated in the Cote de Beaune, he follows a classic winemaking model of sourcing the finest grapes across the Burgundy region in order to blend them into the best possible bottles. His outstanding Cuvee Reserve is sourced from prime vineyards in the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits, aged at 25-40 years and situated in prized argilo-calcaire (clay and limestone) soils. The result is a light-to-medium-bodied masterpiece with classic Burgundy tones of cherry, pomegranate, baking spice, and mushrooms enhanced by further tones of wild raspberries and wet earth. It may not belong to any specific Cru, but oh boy does it taste like Cru Burgundy!
