Lapostolle 'Apalta' Red Blend
Founded in Chile by the French family that started Grand Marnier and bolstered by the consulting support of Michel Rolland, Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle is one of our all-time favorite producers. This wine, which introduced their line-up to us, was formerly known as "le Rouge" before they decided to emphasize the Apalta Vineyard in the name. Vinified by Andrea Leon, it is the "third" wine of Clos Apalta after Le Petit Clos and is an incredible value alternative to the higher-tier (and sometimes 100-Point) estate wines. Lapostolle Apalta is the perfect bottle for those that want the refinement of a Bordeaux with the bold intensity of a Rioja Reserva at half the price! It offers aromas of red fruits, herbs, and spices that lead into exceptionally concentrated flavors of currant, raspberry, plum, and tobacco. The is palate earthy and medium-plus bodied with a long, spicy finish. Apalta is a truly remarkable selection from one of the most talked about and highly rated wineries in Chile.
