Knuttel Family 'Kate's Pas de Deux' Chardonnay
It's hard to find great value wines from storied California winemakers, but thankfully the Knuttel Family wines still lie under the radar. William Knuttel has spent his career building up the wine programs of storied names such as Saintsbury and Dry Creek Vineyards, but now he's content to produce great value wines under his own name. Named after his daughter, his "Kate's Pas de Deux" is a barrel-fermented, lees-aged Chardonnay that bridges California butter with Burgundian elegance. It is a rich, full-bodied wine with flavors of lemon custard, vanilla, and creme brulee that lead into a long, creamy finish.
