Joao Portugal Ramos Reserva
Blend: Trincadeira, Aragonez, and Syrah
Tasting Notes: This delicious Portuguese Red Blend displays aromas of ripe red fruits and dried herbs. On the palate, flavors of crushed flowers, blackberries, and plums are accompanied by hints of fig and spices. Medium-bodied with a long robust finish and soft tannins, this wine showcases a balance between New World flavor and Old World elegance.
Joao Portugal Ramos is considered Portugal’s most famous winemaker. Before he began making his own wines, he was a pioneering wine consultant that almost single-handedly opened Portuguese winemaking to the benefits of modern technologies. In 1990, he decided it was time to start creating his own wine and he began planting vineyards in the Alentejo region. Ramos’s wines quickly met critical acclaim, and he expanded his vineyards to other regions of the country. Drawing from decades of experience, Ramos creates high-quality wines with the goal of being a reference for Portuguese wines at the international level.
