Domaine des Pasquiers 'Plan de Dieu' Red Blend
Blend: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault
Tasting Notes: Grapes from the Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu appellation are grown on a 10-meter-deep bed of red clay packed with stones that help regulate temperature. Given the sparce soil and stony foundation, yields are modest. The terroir produces wines with concentrated aromas and flavors of red berries, spices, thyme, bay, and garrigue. This full-bodied blend was matured in cement tanks for nine months and has aromas of stewed cherries, and flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, licorice, and spice.
Domaine des Pasquiers has belonged to the Lambert family since 1935. In 2010, they converted the entire vineyard to organic agriculture. Bottles of wine from this appellation feature a coat of arms of a bunch of grapes topped with a halo.
