Crosarola Valpolicella Ripasso

Sebastiano Righetti garnered ample experience in winemaking before he even inherited the family farm, so when the time came, he set off to make his own Amarone and Ripasso from carefully handpicked indigenous varieties. Ripasso is often referred to as "baby Amarone" because it's made from the same leftover dried grapeskins that go into Amarone production, creating a lighter but still very plush and rich wine that's a bargain compared to the parent wine. Aromas of balsamic and flowers lead into flavors of dried cherry and raisined plum, which are complemented by violets, blonde tobacco, and black pepper on this wine's rich palate. It is medium-bodied with leathery tannins and a long, velvety finish.
