Chateau Lastours 'Les Gravieres' Gaillac Rose

Some of us love a lot of minerality in our roses, and Chateau Lastours 'Les Gravieres' does just the trick. Produced from grapes grown on gravelly soils in the under-the-radar region of Gaillac in southwestern France, it showcases a curious yet delightful salinity which combines with the richness that 60% Duras and 40% Syrah bring to the table. Deep aromas of cherry and strawberry lead into flavors of raspberries, brioche, spices, and a hint of smoke on the palate. It is light-bodied and fresh but maintains weight and a food-friendly nature. Chateau Lastours has been in the Faramond family for hundreds of years, but that's nothing compared Gaillac's viticultural heritage that dates back to the Roman Empire. Duras, known for the earthy, spicy, and bold red wines it produces, is indigenous to the area and is only grown in southwestern France.
