Calyptra Gran Reserva Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes:  The grapes for this Chilean Pinot Noir come from a unique terroir, situated 1000 meters above sea level in the Cachapoal Valley.  18 months in French oak barrels give this Pinot Noir distinct oak characteristics.  In particular, this Pinot Noir has classic red fruit flavors, but also notes of earth, spice, and oak.

In 1989, a plastic surgeon named Dr. Jose Zarhi acquired a 6-acre property called Santa Cruz de Coya.  After learning that the land had been a vineyard 60 years prior, he began his winemaking journey.  The winery is now recognized for producing some of the best wines in Chile.
