Bodegas La Purisima Old Vine Expression Red Blend

Bodegas la Purisima is a woman-led co-op accounting for 60% of the vineyards in the up-and-coming eastern Spanish region of Yecla. They specialize in Monastrell, a.k.a. Mourvedre, which thrives in the extremely dry, hot climate there. Their Old Vine Expression showcases intense, brooding dark aromas of blackberry, cherry, and plum that lead into milk chocolate, vanilla, rhubarb, and tar flavors on the palate. It is full-bodied, spicy, and definitely a crowdpleaser! With the cepage consisting of 85% Monastrell, 10% Syrah, and 5% Garnacha, it's a reverse GSM/Rhone blend.
