Arnoux 'Vieux Clocher' Gigondas
The Arnoux family have made wine in Vacqueyras since the early 1700s, and now they also source grapes from other parts of the Rhone like Gigondas, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and Crozes-Hermitage. As far as the southern Rhone goes, their wines are characteristically lighter and more lifted with a strong terroir-driven approach. Their 'Vieux Clocher' is a beautifully expressive Gigondas with prominent aromas of violet, plum, and lavender on the nose. Spicy hints come through on the palate, which is subtle in its presentation of cocoa, raspberry, blackberry, and garrigue flavors. Firm but balanced tannins lead into a long, savory finish.
