Alfaro Trout Gulch Chardonnay
Tasting Notes: The wine opens with a citrus feel - aromas of lemon curd and pith are accented by white flowers, fresh cream and a hint of sea spray. On the palate, the cream notes and lemon lead into richer flavors of apple and pear with a hint of butter.
Richard and Mary Kay Alfaro sold their successful baking business to Sara Lee and used the proceeds to buy their first vineyards, which they converted from orchards. Today, Alfaro Family Vineyards continues to be one of the most exciting microwineries in California, producing just hundreds of cases of any given wine.
