2017 Mauro Molino 'Gallinotto' Barolo
Tasting Notes: This Barolo has a fascinating and intriguing bouquet with hints of dark berries and eucalyptus. It exhibits rich flavors of blackberry and strawberry with a hint of smoke. Persistent and full-bodied with a citrus aftertaste.
"Sweet strawberries with ash and tar undertones in the nose. It's medium to full-bodied with dusty rich tannins and a savory finish." - 92 Points, James Suckling
"The Mauro Molino 2017 Barolo Gallinotto shows black cherry and cassis in this vintage, and the fruit is nicely mature without any signs of overt ripeness. This wine shows terrific focus and balance" - 92 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Mauro Molino grew up in Piedmont but took a break to work in Emilia-Romagna after his military service. When he came home in the late 70s, he began producing fine Barolos from some of the region's best vineyards (and never stopped). Nowadays, his children Matteo and Martina spearhead the project. They've brought the estate into the international spotlight, and almost every bottle produced receives international accolades.
