2016 Opus One
A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec. Still a young wine, this is on track to be one of the best vintages yet. Aromas of cassis, bay leaf, and mint frame the nose, leading into flavors of blackberry, currant, and dark cherries on a bright, gorgeously balanced palate. Firm tannins set the stage for a lengthy finish.
"Fantastic aromas that are complex and complete with blackcurrants, blueberries and herbs, such as basil and bay leaf. But always subtle. Full-bodied yet linear and very refined with a very persistent finish. It shows drive and brightness. So refined at the end. Needs at least three to five years to come together." - 99 Points, James Suckling
