Finca Sobreno Crianza Tempranillo
Tastes Like: Blackberries, Chocolate, Oak Spice
Tucked along the Duero River in western Spain, the up-and-coming Toro region has made a name for itself by producing “bullish” reds that offer a rare combination of intensity and elegance. One of Toro’s most exciting up-and-coming estates is Bodegas Sobreño, a family-run winery whose dedication and passion allow them to craft killer wines at phenomenal values. Made from 100% Tinto de Toro (a clone of Tempranillo known for its robust flavor profile) and crafted from 30+ year old vines, this is a wine with a big personality and an even bigger taste. Each powerful sip is teeming with ultra-extracted flavors of spiced blackberries, toasted oak, and balsamic layered over bold but ripe tannins, creating a velvety mouthfeel and a persistently long finish. The 2016 vintage earned a 92 Point score from critic James Suckling.
