Ferrari-Carano Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Anderson Valley, California
Tastes Like: Cranberry, Rose, Cola
Ferrari-Carano is one of the most famous producers in Sonoma County, California, where they’ve established themselves as an early and enthusiastic proponent of sustainability in viticulture. In fact, in 2015, all of their vineyards were certified under the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance! While most of their work continues in Sonoma, they also own a vineyard in neighboring Mendocino County’s up-and-coming Anderson Valley. Anderson Valley may not be as well-known as California’s classic Pinot Noir growing regions, but its cool, foggy maritime climate is perfect for growing richly fruited, aromatic Pinots. The 2016 vintage of Ferrari-Carano’s Pinot Noir is concentrated, with aromas of roses, plum, and cranberry sauce that lead into soft, smooth flavors of cola, red berries, and cherry on the palate. It is medium-bodied, with a long finish of baking spices and minerals. 93 Points & Editor’s Choice, Wine Enthusiast.
