The alpine French region of Savoie was only approved to make Champagne-style Cremant in 2014, but their traditional method sparklings are becoming serious value contenders against the more prestigious region to the north. Eugene Carrel’s Cremant de Savoie is rich and creamy from 18 months of lees aging, providing gorgeous flavors of lemon curd, white peach, and toast. Fine yet persistent bubbles lead into a long, dry finish.
