#43, Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2020!
The story begins with 3rd generation winemaker Jean Bousquet, who left his home in southern France and traveled to Argentina in 1990 to expand his family’s winemaking legacy. He realized his dream in the remote and arid terrain of Mendoza’s Tupungato district, the ideal location to fine-tune his winemaking skills thanks to its high elevation and exceptional terroir. At a staggering altitude of 4,000 feet, the vineyards benefit from a cool climate that extends the ripening period, allowing grapes to develop a complex, robust character while still maintaining freshness.
Using sustainable vineyard practices and 100% organic hand-harvested grapes, Jean’s wines radiate polished French decadence while showcasing the distinct characteristics of Tupungato’s terroir. In short: these wines exude that certain je ne sais quoi that has caught the attention of critics and wine lovers worldwide.
“Offers a smoky aroma, with refined raspberry and red currant flavors, backed by crunchy acidity. Savory midpalate, with a fine-grained finish that offers black licorice and tar notes. Drink now through 2024.” – 90 Points, Wine Spectator
