CasaSmith ‘Porcospino’ Primitivo
Wahluke Slope, Washington
Tastes Like: Cherry, Cassis, Herbs
Full-bodied, food-friendly Primitivo made by a literal rockstar of a winemaker, Charles Smith. Primitivo is a close relative of Zinfandel, and this one has many of the same brambly blackberry flavors. Wowever, the Washington terroir gives it a nice kick of bright acidity (and cherry, red currant, etc.) that makes it a great wine to pair with pizza and pasta dishes.
